Maestro Hino Terumasa who is a Jazz trumpeter and a representative Japanese musician, had a Quartet Live Concert at the cultural center on December 17.The Suginami Rotary Club and the Tokyo Aoyama R.C. cooperated with the Minamisoma R.C for the realization of this plan.The first half of the concert Haramachi high school brass band played the Christmas songs and students of broadcasting club showed many pictures on the screen about their school life at satellite school after the earthquake. An audience was impressed with studentsf sounds and pictures on videotape. And they were also encouraged by the concert of great power.

It has been no services of JR since we had the Great East Japan Earthquake, but the trainfs service began on December 21 between Haranomachi Sta.(Minamisoma) and Soma Sta.(Soma ).There are 14 up trains and 17 down trains a day. It is seventy percentage of the previous timetable. There was the special bus service before but it takes much time. However it takes only twenty minutes by train, itfs a double the speed and moreover the required time is cut below half of the bus.

    Minamisoma city hall began to burn trash from the houses destroyed by the Great East Japan Earthquake on December 19. City hall had an understanding with people who live in the neighboring area. Combustible garbage, collected on the ground of Kita-niida in Haramachi-ku, was carried to the burnin facility, the clean Haramachi center.The dose of the piled garbage was between 0.5 and 0.7 micro Sievert per hour. 61 tons of scrap are gathered to the eleven collecting places within a city except an alert area.
